I had a wonderful time photographing Nicole & Bruno's wedding last month. The gardens and houses at Palmdale Estates, tucked away in East Bay foothills, made for a gorgeous setting.
Needless to say, I'm catching up after a non-stop string of summer weddings! Wes & Laura were married at the lovely Forest Hill Clubhouse. Apparently this place used to only be available to neighborhood residents but they've recently opened it up to all. It's a neat old Tudor building tucked away on a residential street - it turned out to be a lovely venue for their intimate ceremony and reception. I really loved all of the little details in the decorations at the wedding, most of which Laura did herself, including the invitations.
I just found out that one of my images was selected to be included in Photoshelter's homepage slideshow, along with a sample of my website. Photoshelter represents a community of over 40,000 photographers so this is quite an honor!
Here's the image they picked - this was taken from a canoe on Cass Lake in Northern Minnesota on my birthday in June! I actually shot it with Dave's new Canon G10, which is an amazing little point & shoot with full manual controls.
And the full slideshow with some really great work is here (my image is #15 in the slideshow):
And finally, here's the image of my client website, which was also featured (click on "Featured" on the right and scroll down the page about half way) - click to enlarge for a better view.
Baby Riley was just 3 weeks old when I photographed her last week. She was a little unsure of all the camera clicking at first, but once she got comfortable, she was a perfect subject. She loved being curled up in the wicker basket I brought to the shoot and she even indulged Dad by posing with her hot pink lacrosse stick :)
This was a really fun party to celebrate the recent marriage of Elnaz & Joel. The 100+ degree weather kept us indoors for most of the day, but we did sneak outside for a few evening portraits when the light was just right.
I have been busy busy and falling behind on getting current work on this site ...2 weddings and 3 portrait sessions in the span of 1 week!
Anyway, this was a really fun family portrait session in Burlingame. I think the picture of the little girl on the swing is my new favorite among my children's portraits!
Last Friday I had the opportunity to photograph 3-week old baby Tyler. As it happens, he was born 3 weeks early - so I think it was just perfect timing for some intimate newborn portraiture. Here are few of my favorites:
Victoria Channell :: Amazing Handmade Jewelry! I was lucky to photograph her delicately stunning designs. Victoria, who also goes by Tori, handcrafted my favorite pair of dress up dangly earrings. She specializes in custom, made-to-order jewelry, perfect for weddings and bridesmaids gifts or just a treat for yourself. Leave me a message if you'd like more info.
Fantastic food stylist, Maeve Sheridan, has a new website! http://maevesheridan.com/home.html (featuring my photos :)

Have you ever seen the sun melt upside down? This was at Half Moon Bay a few weeks ago. Dave and I were out for a drive and decided to get a snack at the Ritz down there. There is great path along the ocean that leads to a protected beach. We were luck to catch a great sunset
I used mom's headshot request to fulfill the assignment which required her to take my portrait with the same lighting set up (more or less). Here's the side - by - side. Any resemblance?
Alan Murabayashi of Photoshelter just did a great SEO webinar.
While my mom was visiting we did some headshots - I believe she's planning to use this for her Screen Actor's Guild membership. Apparently there are some new productions headed to the Big Island.
I'm jumping on the blogging bandwagon (better late than never...). I wanted to create a place to post the current stuff I'm working on - something a little broader than what makes it into my portfolio.
We had a few days of crazy hot weather in SF earlier this week. Dave and I went out to Baker Beach to catch the sunset. Here are some of the pictures:
